Q: Why are your books only available on Amazon?
A: Put simply; contractual reason. After three months they may appear on other sites such as Apple (iBookstore), Barnes & Noble, Sony and Smashwords. Amazon only have the 90-day exclusive digital rights, so I am looking into alternative print options such as Lulu, subject to demand.
Q: Why is it taking you so long to write / release new material?
A: I work long and hard at a daytime job which sometimes keep me busy into the late evening, leaving little quality time for writing. I also spend a lot of time building my 'on-line author platform' or marketing my books, especially in the 3 - 6 months immediately following release. If you want me to write faster then tell people to buy my books & I can give up work and devote my life to writing.
Q: I've got an idea for a book. If I give it to you will you write it and we can share the profits?
A: No thank you & please, please don't send it to me. That gets tricky legally. Writing is the hard part & not the ideas. I have 10 of those a day. If you have a good idea then write it yourself.
Q: Are you willing to co-write a novel?
A: I'm up for anything and love to collaborate! (I'm afraid of poetry though.) If you're good, and the idea is great, then I would consider it. I'm especially willing to share royalties from translations, so if you want to translate one of my books to another language for a share of the profits then get in touch. I'd also like to contribute to anthologies, so contact me if you have a proposal!
Q: Will you answer my emails.
A: I'll try very, very hard but I may get too busy to do it straight away. Please have patience and excuse my tardiness!
Q: Why so longs before we get a sequel to theFomalhautPlague?
A: I have a number of books that I'm dying to write first. Sorry. Long term, I think that 'serials' are definitely the way to go, so I will get to it as soon as possible.
Q: I'm a new writer. Will you appraise my story?
A: I'd love to. But I can't. I'm too busy trying to get my own work finished. My advice is to join a writing group or specialist website. Search online. You'll find one.
